We’re thrilled to share some big news: U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen has secured $3 million in the FY 2026 Appropriations bill for a new national Energy Circuit Rider pilot program — bringing a proven model from rural New Hampshire to communities across the country.

This is a huge win for small towns and rural communities, and it wouldn’t be possible without the tireless work of organizations on the ground.

At Clean Energy NH, we’ve spent years serving as the “on-the-ground experts” for clean energy and energy efficiency in the Granite State — helping local governments, municipalities and communities navigate grants, plan projects, and deploy clean energy solutions. We’re proud to have served as an advisor for this program, and look forward to seeing our model being scaled up at the national level.

2025 showed us just how fragile the systems around us can be, and how powerful we are when we act despite uncertainty. We’re working to protect the momentum we’ve built, and we need your help.

We’re working to raise $125,000 by December 31st to continue building an affordable, resilient energy system that works for everyone. If you’re ready to help shape New Hampshire’s energy future, now is the moment to give. https://www.cleanenergynh.org/donate

In a small town like Carroll, even modest projects can make a big difference. That's why the town's Energy Commission identified the transition to high-efficiency LED streetlights as their first major initiative.

It’s a great example of how local projects keep moving forward - no matter what’s happening in the moment - driving steady progress toward a more sustainable future. Head to our blog to read more about their success!

New Hampshire’s clean energy leaders came together at the 17th annual Local Energy Solutions Conference to connect, collaborate, and look to the future of the industry.

This year, six communities were recognized with national SolSmart designations for advancing affordable solar energy: Barrington (Gold), Hampton & Stratham (Silver), and Milton, Hopkinton & Dublin (Bronze).

A big thank you to our sponsors, especially Calpine and the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire for making this statewide gathering possible.

📣Thanks to efforts from Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Ag-FDA Senate Committee just approved $4 million for a new Energy Circuit Rider pilot program – modeled after Clean Energy NH’s own Circuit Riders.

The bill now heads to the full House and Senate for vote. If it passes, that means more local experts on the ground to help towns cut energy costs and power cleaner, more efficient economic development opportunities on a national scale. Read more: https://shorturl.at/USN5k
