DEMONS OF THE MIND: NEGATIVE THINKING

Negative thinking must be addressed because our thoughts influence our attitudes, actions, and spiritual growth. As believers, we are called to renew our minds according to God's Word and not allow negative thoughts to take root. "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV)

Negative thinking often arises from:
• Insecurity
• People pleasing
• Fear/Abandonment
• Doubt
• Worry
• Guilt/Compromise
• Discouragement/Sinful worldly living

Christians should not be known as negative people. Instead, we are called to walk by faith, trust God's promises, and maintain a hopeful outlook rooted in Christ. When negative thoughts arise, we must replace them with God's truth and focus on things that are pure, lovely, honorable, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8).

Fellowship and accountability are essential in overcoming negative thinking. Sharing struggles and victories with other believers provides encouragement, strength, and support (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Godly friends, mentors, and spiritual leaders can help us recognize unhealthy thought patterns, speak truth into our lives, and keep us focused on God's promises.

TRUST IN THE LORD ABOVE ALL

As people of God, we are called to place our complete trust in the Lord rather than in wealth, people, or our own abilities. While God may use people and resources to help us, they were never meant to be the source of our security. Human strength is limited, and material possessions can fade, but God's faithfulness never fails.

When challenges arise, remember that true help comes from the Lord. He is our strength, provider, and refuge in every season. Put your confidence in Him, knowing that He is able to do what no person or possession can accomplish.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." Psalm 20:7

"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." Psalm 118:8

May your heart remain anchored in God, for He alone is a sure foundation that will never fail.
