Our Las Vegas team gave us a closer look at a few of the practices that are part of keeping equipment and operations safe, including an added step they take when moving trailers across the yard: securing trailer doors before the trailer leaves the dock.

Trailer doors can shake or drift open while equipment is moving through a yard, creating the potential for damage or an incident. Taking the extra time to secure them helps reduce that risk before the trailer ever starts moving.

It’s a good reminder that safety isn’t one big action. It’s a series of intentional decisions, checks and extra steps that help protect our people, our equipment and the operations we support. ✅

Last week, our TCI team headed to Reno for Tesla’s Semi Rollout event—and got an inside look at what’s ahead for electric Class 8 transportation. ⚡🚛

Our team toured the facility, saw the Tesla Semi production process firsthand and had the opportunity to experience the Semi out on the road.

It’s especially exciting as we continue expanding our own experience with electric transportation. Today, TCI has multiple Tesla Semis in service, 80 battery-electric Class 7 and 8 vehicles and approximately 50 electric yard tractors, supported by a growing charging infrastructure.

Visits like this help our team stay close to the technology, better understand where it can make sense operationally and bring that knowledge back to the fleets and customers we support.

This submission from Taylor Wolfley captures a TCI dock during the quiet of a graveyard shift—before the drivers arrive and the operation picks up again.

As Taylor shared:

“I can’t help but admire how quiet and simple the dock doors look in the dark, knowing that in a few hours, the drivers will arrive, and it will become a little chaotic and busy. But throughout it all, what a beautiful thing as a driver to keep America moving.”

A great reminder that sometimes a different perspective can make the familiar worth a second look.
