BU was originally founded in 1996 in Buena Park, CA., by business entrepanuer, pastor and educator, Rev. Dr. Jong Kwon Lee.
Under his great pioneering leadership, BU quickly became provisionally state approved for its nondenominational, Theological, Counseling, and Worship Leadership graduate degree programs. Benjamin University was originally founded in Buena Park, California. It is now conveniently located at 6400 E Washington Blvd., Commerce City, CA 90040. This building has been remodeled to accommodate 4 classrooms, the library and study room, counseling office, and faculty and administrative offices. Sufficient space within the offices is available to provide security of student records and files.
