Tigers, September is National Literacy Month!

Celebrate with engaging, hands-on activities that build reading, writing, and communication skills for learners of all ages! 📖 🎉

🐅 Read Together Daily:
Dedicate 15 to 20 minutes a day to read aloud, which dramatically increases a child's vocabulary and listening comprehension.

🐅 Cook Using a Recipe:
Follow a simple recipe step-by-step together, having children read the instructions and measure ingredients to blend literacy with math.

🐅 Keep an Everyday Journal:
Encourage kids to record their daily thoughts and reflections using a mix of simple drawings and written words.

🐅 Go on a Word Hunt:
Challenge your child to spot letters and words on signs, menus, and food packaging outside of traditional books to show how literacy works in daily life.

🐅 Create Story Stones:
Paint or glue pictures onto small stones depicting characters and plot points from a favorite book to help younger children sequence narratives physically.
