Campus shuttles will stop running at 6 p.m. today, October 9, and will resume regular service schedule the morning of Sunday, October 11. Student activities scheduled for this evening and tomorrow should be cancelled or rescheduled. Columbus State University Police will be on campus to assist residential students and employees with any needs.

Join us on Oct. 20-21 as Columbus State partners with the Library of Congress’ Veterans History Project! We invite our community to help honor and preserve the stories and artifacts of local veterans—while commemorating our region’s proud military heritage.

On Oct. 20, volunteers will receive special training to interview veterans and safeguard their invaluable memories for future generations. On Oct. 21, the community can sign up to share stories of their proud heritage as a veteran, military family member or civilian support personnel.

We are proud to announce the creation of the Moore Institute for the Study of the American Military Experience—a new chapter in Columbus State’s commitment to honoring our nation’s legacy of military service. It’s named in honor of Lt. Gen. Hal and Julia Moore, whose 30 years of service to the U.S. Army in Columbus and beyond inspire us all.

Through archival preservation and public programming, the Moore Institute will become an internationally recognized destination for students, scholars and military leaders focused on studying and preserving the military’s role in society.

Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. at The Bo Bartlett Center for “The U.S.–Korea Security Alliance in 2026.” The public dialogue will feature two esteemed retired generals—Lt. Gen. (ret) In-Bum Chun of South Korea and Maj. Gen. (ret) David Lesperance of the United States—who will discuss the strategic military relationship and global partnership between our two countries. The event is presented in partnership by CSU’s Hallock Endowment for Military History and the Korean Institute at Columbus State.
