A great Small Business Day at the Capitol was enjoyed by our members yesterday! A welcome from Ohio Leadership Council Chair Al Macre, our emcee was Steve Schramm. We honored Joe Poelking as our Small Business Champion, Senator Bill Reineke (NFIB member) and Representative Bill Romer were our Guardian of Small Business recipients.

Attendees heard from JobsOhio President & CEO JP Nauseef, Speaker of the Ohio House Jason Stephens, Ohio Senate President Matt Huffman (NFIB member), and Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted. We ended with enthusiastic words from State Rep. Scott Lipps (NFIB member) before meeting with legislators in the state capitol.

Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Dan Hawkins has announced his candidacy for the Ohio Supreme Court in 2024, part of a three-candidate GOP slate that will attempt to remove two sitting Democratic justices and keep a third seat in the party’s hands. The court’s current partisan balance is four Republicans and three Democrats.
