o Join Let the Light In and OhioHealth Loss and Healing Services for Gather, Create, Remember: A Wave of Light Event on October 15, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.

Beginning at 6:00 pm, you'll have the opportunity to create either a customized glass lantern or a decorative acrylic heart honoring your baby followed by space for reflection and community while memorializing your loss during the Wave of Light hour from 7-8pm.

October 15th marks Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, an annual day of remembrance for pregnancy loss and infant death, which includes miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, ectopic pregnancy, termination for medical reasons, and the death of a newborn.

The International Wave of Light globally recognizes pregnancy and infant loss. Beginning with the first time zone, at 7:00 pm, illuminations and candles lit remain for one hour until the next time zone takes over, moving westward and creating a Wave of Light worldwide.

There are three ways to participate in this event:

🕯️ Create Workshop followed by Wave of Light Candlelight Vigil: Glass Lantern OR Decorative Heart

🕯️ Wave of Light Candlelight Vigil Only

🕯️ We will light a candle on your behalf with an included card listing the name(s) of those you wish to honor.

This will mark Let the Light In’s fourth year providing personalized services to women and families who have experienced a loss and the continuous efforts of OhioHealth Loss and Healing Services pregnancy and infant loss support programs.

This event is free to attend, but Registration is Required with the available options listed above. If you register for the Create Workshop, you do not need to register for the other two options.

***If you have children attending with you, please include their age(s) as we will have additional children's activities in designated areas.

Our first Light the Way: Conference & Silent Auction was nothing short of inspiring. Thank you for joining us and thank you to everyone involved in making this event possible. If this message finds you and you weren't able to join us - I do hope you'll consider for 2027.

Historically, when someone experiences miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or infant loss - let's also include TFMR, infertility, ectopic pregnancies, molar pregnancies... the list goes on - the silence that surrounds them is deafening. There is isolation and unrealistic expectations to just move on - don't talk about loss, box up our emotions and put them on the shelf.

Over the last several years, this perspective has started to shift and on Tuesday - I felt the shift in the room as each of us looked right into the face of loss and said, "I'm here. Teach me. Show me. Share with me. We're in this together. I'm here for you."

Together, we made it happen. We extended the table and added chairs. We had healthcare leadership, educators, bereavement resources, nurses, doctors, counselors, therapists, social workers, doulas, nonprofit resources, small businesses, community members, and bereaved families. We had local businesses invest in our mission by providing food, beverage, and incredible Silent Auction items.

This is what I mean when I say the heart of Let the Light In is Compassionate Community. We show up for those navigating the unimaginable and we kick up dust as fierce protectors. We rally in support. We take care of one another.

And we're just getting started.

Would you do us a favor? If you attended the event or would like to be involved in 2027, would you take a few minutes to provide some feedback?

We realize there were logistical issues we'll perfect in 2027 - but what we really want to know is how this event impacted you and what you want more of in 2027. What emotion did you hold onto when you walked out the door on Tuesday evening?

As always, I'm here if you want to talk through the conference, support, and ideas for what comes next.

Thank you again for Lighting the Way,
Kami

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, and while this is a month to create awareness, we also recognize the heaviness that it carries. To all the parents (and families) that have experienced loss, please know that our hearts are with you and consider this your invitation to take from this month what you need from it.

If you are local to Central Ohio, we invite you to join us at one of the many events taking place this month, including the Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Walk hosted by Alive In My Heart, Miles’ Mission, Columbus Public Health, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital and our Gather, Create, Remember: Wave of Light Event in collaboration with OhioHealth Loss & Healing Services.

If you cannot attend the Wave of Light Event, we invite you to mark your calendar and light a candle at home in remembrance, honor, and love for those we’ve lost. We would be honored to light a candle on your behalf also, simply comment below, send us a private message, or go to the event page and submit your name(s). 🤍

Dear Friend,

Tomorrow is the day - Everything we've worked toward has led to this - gathering together in the same room to rally around families navigating the unimaginable. We have an incredible day planned for you from long overdue discussions with our Opening Keynote Panel to sessions for both professionals and bereaved families to the celebratory Silent Auction & Cocktail Hour that will close out the day.

There will be snacks. There will be drinks (including coffee!). There will be some deep breaths. There will be community, connection, and celebration.

And friend - there is still time for you to join us if you are able. Even if it's only for the Silent Auction & Cocktail Hour - that hour and a half will light the way for hours of free support for those who need it.

Also - if tomorrow doesn't work for you, we absolutely understand. We just didn't want to let this last chance opportunity to go by in case it was on your mind. www.ltli.org/events for all the details.

With gratitude,

For all of our events, we strive to balance the heaviness of loss with the hope and light for what is ahead. If you've joined us for our signature Silent Auction in years past, you know this event is a celebration of a brighter future, coming together in Compassionate Community to ensure no one has to navigate this journey alone.

That being said - this portion of the event is really fun and we're excited to welcome back Grit and Grace Photo Booth and Photography to this year's Silent Auction portion of Light the Way!

Tickets are still available and if you're not able to join us for the conference portion, please consider joining us for the Silent Auction & Cocktail Hour. An hour and a half for you means hours of free support for those navigating the unimaginable.

We're looking forward to having our friends with us at Light the Way as a Nonprofit Resource Table.

Back in His Arms Again is a charitable organization providing educational resources, guidance and financial services for families who experienced the loss of a child.

No one is supposed to know how to plan your baby's funeral. We are here to help guide you through the steps you may need to talk to make final arrangements. Dedicated in 2014, the Garden is at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center and is available for any baby under 20 weeks gestation, or, who has been cremated.

Thank you for the beautiful work you do!

See you at Light the Way, friends!

The Natalia Marie Foundation was one of the first organizations we linked arms with when Let the Light In first started in 2023. It's an honor to continue to have them not only as part of our Compassionate Community, but as friends. Thank you for joining us at Light the Way!

The road after Natalia has been rocky at times. This uncharted territory has been one that we hope to help others navigate through. Our main goal is to bring parents some sort of peace when it comes time to bring their angels home.

As a foundation, we provide urn packages to families who, like us, suffer the loss of their baby. We believe that every family deserves to bring their baby home in something beautiful.

It's about time friends... Grab your ticket! www.ltli.org/events for all ticketing options including the Silent Auction and Cocktail Hour if you can't make the conference!

We are wishing the very best to our friends this weekend for their annual Lydie's Loop Steps Against Stillbirth benefiting and we look forward to catching up with you next week at Light the Way!

Count the Kicks is an evidence-based stillbirth prevention program that provides educational resources to healthcare providers and expectant parents. Their goal is to make kick counting a common practice for all expectant parents in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Lydie’s Loop benefits Healthy Birth Day, Inc, creator of Count the Kicks, a stillbirth prevention program that educates expectant parents about the importance of monitoring their baby's movements in the third trimester of pregnancy. Research shows that a change in movement is sometimes the first or only indication that a baby is in distress.

Thank you for being part of our Compassionate Community!
