First Presbyterian Child Development Program

PCDP is a small, play-based, half-day preschool serving children ages 18 months to 4 years. Also known as PCDP, our preschool program is over 30 years old.
Our curriculum is based in playful interactions, hands-on learning, child-directed discovery, experiments, and projects. PCDP was established with the intent to provide high quality preschool instruction for young children, and to serve as an outreach mission of the church to the Columbus community. Recognizing the inborn worth and value of each child as a unique creation of God’s plan, we will strive to offer love and encouragement to every child. We are currently a preschool only program, operating 8:30AM to 11:30AM Tuesday through Friday for 2 yr olds and 8:30AM to 11:30AM Monday through Friday for 3 and 4 yr olds Our classes are small with a 10 to 1 student/teacher ratio.

We had such a fun week at preschool! Our toddlers had fun sinking, floating, and splashing in their sensory table. Our three year olds learned about their 5 senses and had fun with a 5 senses taste test. Our kinder-prep class finished up their unit on pets with a virtual field trip to an animal shelter. They ended their week with their very own puppy adoption!

On Tuesday, September 15th we celebrated International Dot Day! Dot Day is global annual celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration. We wore dots to school and read “The Dot” by Peter H. Reynolds. We also created art with dot painters, had a dot themed snack, and made fizzy dots! It was a great day!
