kendallprojects is an Artist run Arts and Media Company specializing in the production of contemporary multi-media works by its founder and artist Jason Kendall. In addition to the production of these artworks the company produces creative content for social media accounts of the studio, local businesses and artists. This includes the documentation of their creative process, promotional items, music videos and graphic design work.

kendallprojects (Jason Kendall) depending on what artistic context you catch him in is an artist creating multi-dimensional work (sculpture, performance, video installations and drawings) that rest on the conviction that art should generate an experience for the viewer which challenges them on a variety of sensory levels. His investigations are transformed into conflicts that engage the viewer on a visceral level. This encounters he creates exploit different stimuli to affect the viewer’s perceptions by using a combination of images, sound, smells or text to leave the viewers curious about what they are witnessing.

kendallprojects believes “art” is an experience that we all have the right to have. Believe that the experience with “art” should be challenging, difficult, engaging, dynamic, fun, worthwhile scary and should leave its participants with questions that they ponder for long time (if not the rest of their lives). I believe that it is my responsibility as an artist to provide “you” with these experiences through languages, symbols, archetypes, myths, culture and images that shaped both who you and I am, to tell a new yet familiar story using these aspects of experience to provide you an opportunity to create your own story. We are a leader in inter-disciplinary contemporary art making in Columbia South Carolina. Artist Jason Kendall redefines the boundaries of what and who he works with in each project in an effort to push his viewers to experience art in a unexpected and risky manner.

From owner Jason Kendall: “kendallprojects” was founded in late 1999 in response to the status of a project that I was working on during the first semester of my senior year at Ringling. The Arthor Suger projects needed to develop into a broader, more inclusive way of presenting my ideas. When each work became it’s own production under the heading, work by, “artist” Jason Kendall, with help from others, it made sense to put each endeavor under the heading “kendallprojects”. Since it’s official inception in 2000 with the launching of a rudimentary website that laid out the brief history of the projects, it has expanded to include a wider variety of both work and persons involved. Do to the nature of the medium of performance documentation, it was important for me to have people assist with the projects that I trusted, were proficient in their area of expertise, understood and shared the same vision for the work as I did.
