Working together for healthier communities! Phase I- June 2010 we conducted a Photovoice project with adult and children members of the community.
We are using a three phase process, funded by the Kresge Foundation Grant, to help empower the community so they can better it themselves. They took photos of the strengths and weaknesses they saw in the community. , Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded at Howard University in 1913. The first public act of Delta Sigma Theta was the Women's Suffrage March in Washington D.C., March 3, 1913. It is the largest African American Greek lettered organization in the world. Famous members include: Shirley Chisholm, Carol Moseley Braun and Mary Church Terrell.

The CEC is hosting a Youth Listening Session for young people ages 12 to 17 on tomorrow (Oct. 11) from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at the CEC office (Gonzales Gardens Apt. AD-2). We want to hear young people's ideas on how to create community change. If you know of someone who might be interested, call 661-6870. Parents will need to sign a consent form before their child participates. Pizza will be served!
