🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from SCAIHS!

Today is a great opportunity to take a break from the usual homeschool routine and learn a little about why we celebrate Labor Day!

Try this simple family lesson today:

🔎 Learn: Look up the history of Labor Day together. When did it begin? Why was the holiday created?

💬 Discuss: What does it mean to work hard? Talk about different jobs in your community and how each one helps others.

✏️ Write: Have each child choose a job or career that interests them and write a few sentences—or draw a picture—about why that work is important.

❤️ Thank: Think of someone you know who works hard serving others. Write them a quick note, send a text, or simply tell them **thank you**!

Homeschool lessons don't always need a textbook. Sometimes a holiday gives us the perfect opportunity to learn about history, community, and the value of meaningful work together.
