Seals of the Day: Today, we had the pleasure of cutting some VEE-Packs for a customer. The first one is an HPU/POM 1-3-1 with both male and female adapters. The second is the same but made entirely of urethane.

Todays cut was a spring loaded seal!
When a spring-energized seal is installed into a cavity of an application, it is subjected to radial compression. This spring load energizes the lips, forcing them against the gland walls to create an extremely resilient leak-tight barrier. The inherent radial tension continuously maintains a highly reliable seal from installation onwards, meaning no system pressure is required for decent sealing efficiency. Conversely, when pressure is introduced, it further energizes the jacket and increases seal force. This translates to excellent low a
s well as high-pressure sealing capabilities.
