Hello!!! It was such a success last year we are planning on having a silent dessert auction again this year with our annual trivia night!!! We are looking for folks who would be willing to donate dessert items for this auction. This isn't like a bake sale with individually wrapped items, we are looking for full dessert items. For example, a full cake, a pan of brownies/bars, a full pie, etc. People will be bidding on the entire item, then taking home or sharing with their table!!! This event is on Friday night October 16th at the Moose Lodge. You would need to get the item to The Moose by 5pm that night or you can call us to make other arrangements. If you would be willing to donate an item please let us know by either commenting here or calling the shelter during business hours at 563-242-2457. Thank you so much for the consideration!!!

Meet Laura!!

*spayed female
*almost 2yrs
*up to date on vaccines
*microchipped

Laura was actually born here and in less than a week, this sweet girl will have been at the shelter for TWO YEARS (730 days). Two years of waiting, hoping, and wondering when her person will finally come along. 💔

She is playful, fun-loving, and full of personality. She deserves to know what it feels like to have a home of her own.

Our goal is simple: we want to find her a home before she reaches that two-year milestone.

Could you be the person she’s been waiting for? Or maybe you know someone who could be her perfect match. Please share her story and help us get her seen! 🐱💕

Let’s not let her spend another year waiting.

Hello- We have a young pup, (her name is Romy, and she is the absolute sweetest) in the shelter that we think could greatly benefit from a doggie chiropractor. Being non-profit this is something that definitely does not fit in our budget😞Is anyone aware of a good one that may donate their services??? Any suggestions would be very appreciated ❤️🐾🐶

🚨We are in NEED of these if you would like to donate we are currently out!! Our kitty friends will be so happy!!

Sometimes we use things like this to make friends with our new arrivals that are scared and for our kitty friends that are underweight and need some extra calories or to just get them excited to eat because when they are nervous or sick they don't have much of an appetite. So if you would like to donate PLEASE consider donating these in any flavor🐾 Thanks in advance, we appreciate things like this more than you know!!!!

Love❤️
All of our feline friends at the shelter

Hip Hip Hooray 🎉 we LOVE adoption days❤️ Congratulations to them and their new families ❤️😻🐶 EXTRA SPECIAL shout out to Harry Potter....he is the first of 4 in the Potter Crew that we are hoping to get adopted soon as they have waited soooo long. Stop by anytime during business hours to see the rest of the crew looking for their furever home!!

It's Adopt a Less-Adoptable Pet Week!!

Come check out our 'less-adoptable" furry friends that have been here for way too long, we unfortunately have ALOT that continue to get overlooked and they just want to find a loving home like the rest. Some are shy, some don't have the best kennel presence and some just get overlooked for whatever reason. Visit our website at www.clintoniowahumanesociety.org to see all of our friends looking for a place to call home and be sure to check out their intake dates, some have been here over a year and some going on 2 years, lets FINALLY find them a loving home that they so much deserve!!

🐾Adopt a Less-Adoptable Pet Week 2026 takes place from September 14 through September 20, 2026, shining a light on shelter animals who often get overlooked and wait the longest for a home.
