Jennifer Johnson's forum at The City Club of Cleveland last week was a powerful reminder of the importance of building and maintaining a strong network of relationships and collaboration between law enforcement, health care systems, and social services to support children who have been the victims of abuse or other crimes.

Earlier this month, some of our FrontLine leaders traveled to Washington DC for the National Alliance to End Homelessness’ 2026 National Conference on Ending Homelessness and Capitol Hill Day in Washington DC.

Alongside representatives from West Side Catholic Center, Cuyahoga County Health and Human Services Office of Homeless Services, City of Cleveland - City Hall Home for Every Neighbor, NEOCH, The Center for Community Solutions and EDEN: Emerald Development & Economic Network, they were able to attend workshops and discussions, as well as spend a day on Capitol Hill advocating face-to-face members of congress and their staff for policies that help end homelessness.

Together, they created an environment of healing, joy, and fun for 30 campers with hiking, a photo booth, face painting, soccer, crafts and even a visit from an ice cream truck.

After days of dangerous heat, Cuyahoga County is now experiencing poor air quality due to wildfires to the North in Canada.

Learn how poor air quality can impact your health and seek shelter indoors if possible.

Wildfire smoke can increase the Air Quality Index (AQI) and be particularly hazardous to those with pre-existing conditions such as asthma.

As smoke from the wildfires in Ontario reach Cuyahoga County keep windows closed, use an air purifier if you have one, and if you do go out consider using an N95 mask to protect yourself from the smoke.

We are once again under an extreme heat advisory. Temperatures will reach the 90s with a heat index of up to 104 degrees.
