Many people think you only find data science in technical and professional industries. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Statistics are all around us in our everyday lives, and you use them more than you think. Whether it’s in retail calculating losses or in the insurance industry tabulating rates for certain areas, data science is a deep dive into the specifics. Here are just a few industries with some outcomes that were found. Think about your industry or interest or expertise. What outcomes can you think of that relates to data science? By now, you should know that STEM is a critical industry to learn and work in. When students are exposed to various STEM opportunities, they thrive and develop an appreciation for problem solving, open-ended questions, and discovery. What are your STEM experiences?
