Source was the successor of Valves GoldSource engine. The first Half life, along with the first Team Fortress, and the first Counter Strike all ran on the GoldSrc. Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal 1 and 2, DOTA 2, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 all came out on Source. 3rd Source= Half-Life 3 and Portal 3 confirmed.
