CSU Psychology faculty ready to celebrate our 2026 graduates

We had a great time at the first (annual?) HOPRLab end-of-semester celebration last night! I should have taken a group picture, but I at least got a couple of shots...

With my name badge retired to the coat rack, another SIOP conference is over (actually, I still need to get my receipts in order, but doing this post is more fun). I learned a lot (mostly about neurodivergence and work-nonwork issues), I enjoyed catching up with old friends, as well as meeting new ones. Although I'm kicking myself for not getting a picture, I also continued the tradition of meeting up with Cleveland State folks for a sweet treat (this time it was beignets from Cafe du Monde). Until next year...

Final leg of the journey delayed. Not the end of the world...

The first leg of my flight home is on time... So far. Plenty of conference folks on the flight, including the person who introduced me to the field when I was an undergraduate (thanks again, Steven!)

Now appearing in the Exhibit Hall. Stop by and say hi!

Sat around at the gate waiting on standby, but totally missed any announcement that they moved it to a different terminal. By the time I got to the right gate, everyone was already on the plane, but I got on! (Actually I just heard we're waiting for 30 more people, so I think other people might not have heard the announcement). Still not the end of the world

Late departure in Cleveland means I missed my connection to New Orleans. On standby for another flight, and confirmed on another one this evening. Not the end of the world. At least I've got time to get some lunch

SIOP Scaries! I leave for the conference tomorrow, and even after decades of conference attendance, the day before still gives me anxiety. What if I miss my flight? What if they lose my luggage? What if my poster has a typo? What if I get sick during the conference? What if I can't find someone to eat dinner with? If you also get the SIOP Scaries (or MPA Scaries, etc.), it's time to take a breath and remember that 1) none of those things are the end of the world and you'll get through them just fine, and 2) these things rarely happen (especially not all at once)
