The first installment of these FUNNY FEAST tapings I'm doing the last Sunday each month is today, nice and early at 6p! I'm making steak, chicken and veggie taco fixings, rice & beans and such so we'll have a nice shared meal.
I've got some new material prepped from running around shows this week (Thanks for the stage time JUDDS, MAHALLS, EAST END BISTRO, HAPPY DOG). My personal goal for these tapings is if I have a new 10+ minutes every installment, by the end of the 10 volumes this year I'll have 100 minutes of new, unrecorded material captured and ready to be composed into some audio albums.
The secondary goal of these shows is to create space for comedians I like to stretch out and figure out where they are logistically. I'll step back, behind the camera and shoot / direct coverage of their performances. At the end of the show, they'll have video coverage of their set + audio to create projects of their own (maybe albums, maybe specials).
Towards that end, I've rented a nice camera, have a small production crew on hand to make things professional as possible.
Could use a few more audience members! Tickets are $25 at the door, or just $20 online via eventbrite. If you don't have plans tonight, pull up!
The taping will end at 8p, so that the weekly variety show CON TU can take place at its normal time slot, with THE MIC THAT DOESN'T END happening following that.. Folks are welcome to stay for as long as they'd like.
