I go through waves in time where I notice all the names people use for their animals and moments where I hardly notice them. I seem to be in a moment where I keep noticing nicknames.

Have you ever paused to think about the name you’re using for your animal? Stubborn, crazy, lazy, bossy, sensitive. What if you stop and take a moment to say each word or “name” and allow yourself to feel into how your body responds when it hears these words?

Stubborn. What if he isn’t stubborn? What if he’s uncertain, uncomfortable, holding a boundary, or responding to something we haven’t noticed yet? Lazy. What if she isn’t unmotivated, but careful about how she approaches things? What changes when she feels interested, comfortable, or confident? Sensitive. What if she’s noticing more of her surroundings than we realize? What might we learn by paying attention to what she notices and when?

We don’t have to immediately replace the label with another explanation. Sometimes the most important thing we can do is leave room to notice more.

It’s easy to create labels or “nicknames” for our animals. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment and call them something other than their true name. What is harder to realize or notice is how that name carries an energy with it. How that name only describes one small moment in time. Or one experience. But the honest truth is that label doesn’t get the chance to capture the animal as a whole.

We’re quick to make assumptions on who the animal is based off of one small moment.

When we set the labels aside and allow them to show us the whole picture behind the actions, we can learn and see so much more than we might realize in the moment. It gives us the opportunity to allow them to show us their true preferences and the reasons behind them. Best of all, it leaves room for us to learn what we don’t understand yet.

What might you notice if you pause a moment the next time you’re about to call your animal a label rather than a true nickname?

It’s pretty clear to all of us horse people that a big part of why we are in this is because of the relationships we create with our horses. One thing that I feel like isn’t talked about enough is how you can care deeply about your horse but still have days where being together feels complicated.

Luna and I have been together for 14 years. We have grown and progressed so much from our first day together. However, there are days I pull her out to work with her and it is super clear that it’s not our best day. Whether it’s coming from her, from me, or both of us, it’s sometimes just very apparent it isn’t our best day.

The beauty of horses, and our relationships we create with them, is that even on our worst days, after our most difficult rides, or after a disconnected afternoon, it doesn’t erase the relationship we’ve built with them. It’s in these moments that it is important for us to make room for compassion for both our horse and ourselves.

Not everything or every moment needs to be a lesson. Sometimes we just need to be seen or heard. If things have felt a little tangled lately, or you just feel that you or your horse need that space, you’re welcome to bring it into a Connection Session. Not all sessions need to begin with questions. Sometimes they simply need to hold space for what is already there.

You don’t need to wait for there to be a “problem” or for something to be “wrong” for you to become curious about what your animal has to share.

Does your dog always go outside and head straight for the same place in the yard before going somewhere else or doing anything else? Does your horse sometimes take you over to a new spot in the arena first? Or does your horse randomly find a new fascination with something they have had for a long time?

If you take a few moments to simply become curious when your animal steps outside of their normal routine, you may begin to understand something new about their perspective.

Connection Sessions can help with areas of concern. But they also can help you to explore their personality, their purpose, your relationship or the smaller messages that you may be missing.

Connection doesn’t require a crisis. It simply requires an open mind and curiosity about your animal’s perspective on life.

Something close to my heart has been quietly taking shape behind the scenes, and I am so excited to finally share it with you.

Threaded Souls officially has a website!
✨🩷✨

I am so excited to share a space that brings together the heart and soul behind this work, the animals who have helped me shape my work along the way, and to share the ways I can support you and your animal.

Whether we have had a session together already, or you are new here and curious about how animal communication can help you and your animal, my goal is that this space gives you the chance to answer some questions, get to know me, and explore what a session together could look like for you.

I would love for you to take a look around.

If you get the nudge to book a session, I would be honored to hold that space for you and your animal.

Thank you for being a part of Threaded Souls and this next chapter.

When your animal chooses to not do something or chooses not to talk about something rather than asking “how do I fix this” what if we chose to ask “what are you trying to help me understand?”

When a horse chooses to not load onto a trailer, people are quick to bypass the “why” and go straight to the “you must”. When a dog chooses not to allow someone to pet them, people can be quick to hold them still and force them to be pet by the stranger.

You don’t always need an animal communicator to help you listen to your animal. This doesn’t mean over looking safety, training or necessary vet care. It simply means allowing curiosity to become a part of how we choose our next step.

The horse who doesn’t load. Do they like lots of hay? Do they need a buddy? Did they get scared one way or another last time they hauled? What type of energy are you bringing to the table as you ask them to load?

The dog who doesn’t want to be pet. Is there something off about the person? Is their approach to the dog scary from the dog’s perspective? Do you struggle holding/placing boundaries in your own life?

Often when our animals refuse or choose not to participate in an action or conversation they are opening the door for you to grow more curious about all that surrounds that “no”. Not to just look at the one thing being proposed to them directly. Is there something your animal has been inviting you to look at differently?

Communication can still happen in the moments of silence.

Have you ever looked at your pet and asked them if they wanted to do something they typically like? Usually we get a quick and enthusiastic response. But have you ever gotten little to no response?

Sometimes this happens with me when I’m connecting with an animal for a session. I will ask your animal a question you’ve brought forward and the line goes quiet. Think when you’re talking on the phone and in the middle of a conversation the other person is really quiet for a moment. The same way you check in to see if they’re still there is what I do when your animal goes quiet.

That moment of silence or distance from a question or topic speaks volumes. It may be a pause, a boundary, or an invitation to take the conversation somewhere else.

It is important to all of us, not just me as an animal communicator, to respect these boundaries. Often times, when an animal pauses, redirects, or declines a topic they take the conversation in a whole new direction. Often times into a place you as their person, or me as the communicator, couldn’t do better ourselves if we tried.

Sometimes what they choose not to explore is just as meaningful as what they bring forward.

Have you ever looked at your pet an had an overwhelming amount of love or gratitude surge through your body? So much so it stops you in your tracks? So much so it makes you wonder where all of that emotion came from?

What if in those moments where you’re so overwhelmed with love or gratitude you’re not just feeling your emotion for your pet, but also their love or gratitude for you?

Our animals send us lots of messages throughout their lives. They aren’t always the big, life changing messages that stop you in your track messages. Sometimes, they simply send that love right back to us. As a gentle reminder that the bond you share has always been a two-way street.

I would love to hear if you’ve ever had a moment like this where. One where the love you felt seemed to come from somewhere beyond yourself, and it was undeniable your animal was reaching back to you.

Learning to Listen… A Gathering

When you’re in the day to day it’s easy to miss all the small parts or lessons. When you take a moment to step back and look at all the parts, pieces, and moments you can see where all the lessons came in and how they shaped you to be who and where you are today. For me, it’s been super fun to look back and see what helped shape my path to lead me to where I am today.

The dog who pushed me to toss the rule book. The pup who helped me trust in my voice. The horse who helped me see how healing my work can be. To the horse who allowed me to realize I can connect with any soul (human or animal) when the moment calls for it most. Where did all of these lessons lead me?

They led me to a space with a small group of women. This session ended up being small in numbers, but huge in impact. This session brought forward so much energy and so much healing. I was able to bring forward all of my previous lessons and hold a space so expansive that I was able to connect with a few humans alongside of the animals for each woman in the group.

Had I been asked a few years ago if I thought that I would be able to hold such a session I would have probably have chuckled nervously and said “hopefully!” But I hadn’t learned from all of these lessons yet. I hadn’t gained the confidence in myself. I hadn’t yet learned to fully trust all of the process to be able to connect to animals in the way I do today.

When I named my group sessions “Gathering of Souls” I didn’t know how expansive that name would become. I knew it would gather souls together. But had no idea at the time that it would lead me to connecting with animal and human souls alike to receive and deliver messages.

Looking back now, it feels impossible to separate this moment from everything that came before it. Every lesson, every animal, every moment of uncertainty prepared me for a session I never could have imagined leading years ago.

It’s not that I developed a new ability. It’s that I trusted in the growth of the abilities I’ve had all along. Allowing each individual experience to expand my capacity a little more each time. Until I was finally able to hold space for any and all souls who needed to step forward.

In the past I have thought that growth primarily happens in the big moments. But what I’ve come to learn is that it happens everywhere. In the conversations that stretch you. In the animals who challenge your way of thinking or doing. In the moments that need to marinate a moment (or sometimes a year) to be able to see the full message.

Learning happens in the loud and in the quiet.
All you need to do is listen with an open heart.

Learning to Listen… Trusting the Connection

There are clients who come for one session, and there are clients whose journeys I get to witness over the course of multiple sessions/years. Kassidy happens to be one of those people who I’ve been able to watch her relationship with her animals and herself evolve. Being alongside her for her journey is one of the greatest privileges of this work. When she reached out to me saying she was finally ready to connect with her horse who passed years ago, I knew this session was going to be different. I just knew there was going to be something extra special about this session.

As I called forward her horse something incredibly beautiful and unexpected happened. He came forward, but once he was beside me he morphed into Kassidy’s grandfather. I’ve had animals bring forward people before, but never in this way. Once her grandfather was fully there her horse came back and joined our gathering. It was right there in that moment that I felt the energy shift and felt how powerful and magical this session was going to be.

The messages that followed flowed with such a gentleness I still think about it today. Her horse would take the floor sharing something and then would quietly step aside for her grandfather to have space to share his messages. They never competed for space or to be heard, knowing that they each held important messages that only they could give. They shared the space and held love and respect not only for each other but for Kassidy and I as well. An image of a tomato sprout kept coming forward to me. I paused and asked her, “Why do I keep seeing a tomato plant? Does that mean anything to you?”

Kassidy was shocked and immediately said that her grandfather’s favorite food was tomatoes. With some help from her we found the bigger message behind the tomato sprout.

What really struck me wasn’t simply that both her horse and her grandfather came forward together. It was the trust they placed in me to carry and deliver their messages that belonged not just to one of them, but both of them individually. What an incredible honor it is to witness that kind of love continue long after both relationships changed.

Looking back, this session didn’t change my understanding of communication as much as it opened my eyes to something much bigger about connections. It showed me how my growth over the years has led me to this moment. And how when the client needs more than what one soul alone can offer, I’m simply there to hold space for whoever steps forward with the messages they need. This session helped me realize something I hadn’t noticed before. All these small moments from before were building upon themselves and leading to something bigger and more beautiful than I could imagine.

Learning to Listen… A Quiet Truth

There are sessions that I remember because of how they helped me grow. Then there are sessions I remember because of the impact they had on myself or my client. Carats is one of those animals who I immediately think of when I reflect on moments that changed me. Our first session together was at a point in time where her person had nowhere else left to go, and wanted to hear some of her final messages. This was one of the first sessions I got to experience just how powerful energy work can be.

At the time of our first session Carats had a lot going on physically, and her mom was doing her best to listen to her but was getting overwhelmed with all the voices around her at the same time. This is what prompted the session, so that her mom could hear her thoughts more clearly.

Though Carats had some really beautiful messages for her mom, the most impactful thing to come from this first session was the physical turn around she made after it. The first thing she asked of me was to do a body cleanse for her. The transformation she went through physically and mentally after that left both her mom and I stunned. She was able to walk sound again, the spark that had been lost returned to her eye, and her spirit carried a lightness neither of us expected her to carry again so quickly and easily. What I didn’t realize after that first session was that our journey together wasn’t done.

When I got to reconnect with her months later, she had more to show and teach me. One of her biggest messages being, “It’s time to turn the page.” I quickly realized that was not just for her mom, but for me as well. She helped me realize that bringing forward messages is only one part of the work I’m meant to do. I also carry the ability to help create healing. And that fully stepping into those gifts wasn’t arrogance. It was responsibility.

The conversation stopped belonging solely to her mom. Carats was speaking to me too. Reminding me that by stepping fully into this work wasn’t arrogance, it was a responsibility. If these messages were truly meant to help others, I couldn’t keep shrinking myself in the process.

Looking back now, I don’t remember Carats simply because of the remarkable changes she experienced, or the specific words she used. I remember her for the way she changed the way I understand this work. And for the way she helped me change the feel and flow of my sessions. My sessions once lacked the depth of what the animal needed physically and mentally, but now they pair both together seamlessly fully supporting the whole animal in every way.

Each animal leaves me with something different. Carats left me with the quiet understanding that messages we receive don’t always end when the session does. Sometimes they become the foundation for what follows.
