I'd found a study a couple of years ago that resonated with some current readings about "luck". Dr Richard Wiseman studied some 700 people in England who considered themselves lucky or unlucky.

The results are really interesting when you look at the things they both attracted into their lives.

I've been on a deep-dive about the subconscious mind and how it affects...well...everything in our lives and I wanted to share this.

Always down to go deeper if you're interested. Leave a comment or DM me.

So many things are about perspective and momentum. I've been sharing ideas on presentation and image and that's what so much of this is.

Some people are making waves without documenting it, and the perception is that they're not doing anything. You might see someone else with great numbers but no business.

🛑 Stop comparing yourself to anyone but yesterday's you. Just be aware of how you can improve for yourself.

So you want to grow but don't know how? You need to be able to answer this question to yourself first.

Chasing trends (in music, posts, content, products) only gets you so far.

So what do you do?

Where are you struggling now?
Let me know and share this if it gives you insight!

Remember who you're doing it for.

This was taken from a circus my day care put on a "few" years ago (always a performer/🤡 lol). I remember backing out of walking on stilts before the curtain went up.

That was the last time I ever doubted my ability to do anything. But confidence only goes so far if you aren't doing things the Right Way. I recently read a biography about the late Virgil Abloh and he was cited as often saying he was doing this for his 17 year-old self.

My 3 year-old self promised his mom he'd tour the world playing "La Bamba" on his guitar. Fun seeing how close I turned out to that...maybe I'll tune it again one day and see what happens....

A lot of artists and entrepreneurs assume growth slows down because not enough people are seeing their work.

But attention is only the first step.

After discovery, people try to quickly understand who you are and what you do.

If that context isn’t clear, momentum rarely starts.

🔖One quick check: look at your last few posts and ask yourself what a stranger would understand about you.

A lot of talented artists assume unpredictable growth means they’re doing something wrong.

Most of the time, that isn’t true.

Momentum doesn’t form at the same moment attention happens. It forms in what comes after someone discovers you.

That missing context is why growth can feel random even when the work is solid.

If this feels familiar, save this. It’s the part most people are never shown.
