First Step Preschool PTA

Wow. We are still smiling from the incredible turnout at last night’s First Step Preschool PTA Touch-a-Truck, Safety, and Resource Fair! By our estimates, we served over 300 families (around 750 people!).

So much time, energy, and heart goes into planning an event like this, and seeing all those happy, smiling faces last night made every single second worth it. ❤️

🚒 TOMORROW: Our 3rd Annual Touch-a-Truck Safety and Resource Fair! 🚛

Get ready, Parma! The First Step Preschool PTA is so proud to host our 3rd Annual Touch-a-Truck event tomorrow. We can’t wait to see all our Fireflies and neighbors there. The weather is looking beautiful, and we are ready for a fantastic night!
Here is everything you need to know for a smooth and fun evening:

🕒 When & Where
Date: Tomorrow, Friday, May 15th (Rain or Shine!)
Sensory Friendly: 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM (No lights, sirens, or loud sounds, please)
General Public: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: 7700 Malibu Drive, Parma, OH 44130

💰 Cost & Activities
FREE ENTRY: This event is completely free for the community!
Trucks & Vendors: We have lots and lots of vehicles to explore and community partners to meet. You'll get to see vehicles and booths from the Parma Police and Fire Departments, Cleveland Metroparks, Operation Lifesaver, Goldfish Swim School, and many others!
Food Trucks: Come hungry! We will have food trucks on-site with options like W***y Nilly’s Pizza, Sig Tacos, Frios Gourmet Pops, and Lemonade with a Twist available for purchase.

🚗 Parking & Accessibility
No On-Site Parking: To keep the lot safe for our explorers, there is no parking available in the school lot during the event. Please utilize the street parking available in the surrounding neighborhood.
Drop-Off Zone: If you have accessibility needs, there is space to drop off passengers at the entrance before finding a parking spot.
Communication Boards: We will have communication boards available on-site for any attendees who may need them and a sensory spot for families to take a break.

Bring a Bag: Our vendors have plenty of resources and trinkets for the kids so bring a bag to store all your goodies!

Our Touch A Truck: Safety and Resource Fair is officially happening THIS FRIDAY, May 15th! Whether your little ones are obsessed with sirens or you're looking to connect with amazing local resources, we’ve got something for everyone.

📍 Where: First Step Preschool (7700 Malibu Drive, Parma)
⏰ When: 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM
🤫 Sensory Friendly Start: 5:30 PM – 6:00 PM (No horns or sirens!)
🎟 Admission: FREE!

We have an incredible lineup of partners joining us, including Parma Police and Fire, Cleveland Metroparks, and dozens of local organizations ready to share resources with your family.

Hungry? We’ll have food trucks on-site with delicious eats available for purchase. Grab the kids, tag a neighbor, and come see us! 💡✨

For the final day of Staff Appreciation Week we had the opportunity of feeding our staff catered boxed lunches from Chick-fil-A Parma! We had a variety of meals, and made sure everybody was fed.

We also had the pleasure of honoring Mrs. Boyd, who will be retiring this year, and presenting our Fantastic Firefly awards! Mrs. Krieger, Mrs. Kaminski, and Mrs. Peluso. These women are all amazing and go above and beyond for our fireflies every day!

Today is the last day of Staff Appreciation Week, and we want to make sure all of these hardworking staff members feel the appreciation from not only the PTA, but most importantly, the families they serve!

Yesterday was day 4 of Staff Appreciation Week!

We got to give our staff a snack bar with water, chips, and cookies! We also had the opportunity to giveaway various donated items! We gave away 1 cookbook donated from Gibbs Publishing! We also got to giveaway Cleveland Monsters tickets, Cleveland Charge, Lake Erie Crushers tickets, Akron RubberDucks tickets, and 10 pair of earrings donated by Oh Clementine! All of these were given away to random staff members via a Wheel- random name generator.

We hope our staff had an awesome day, and be on the look out for what we do to end this awesome week 👀

Today is day 3 of Staff Appreciation Week! Today our PTA got to provide our staff with electrolyte sticks, croissants, and Dial soap. The soap was donated by Dial and PTO Today.

We are so grateful for our amazing staff! They do so much for our fireflies and deserve a great week!

Today is the second day of staff appreciation week, and we had the honor of giving our staff a coffee bar including donuts and muffins! Pinky Fresh Brew LLC did such an amazing job fueling our staff during their PD day! Our First Step staff is AMAZING and we love the chance to celebrate them.

We also got to pass out the end of year gifts to all the classrooms from our PTA unit. We love that our PTA unit gets to do so much for not only our students, but also our staff members!

Happy first day of Staff Appreciation Week!

Today our PTA unit got to treat our staff to tacos from SIG Tacos! The tacos were a hit! It was a great way to start the week and help our staff feel appreciated for all they do for our fireflies. We are so excited for what's in store the rest of the week.
