One of my clients sent me this photo while we were preparing to list their home.

Along with these words:

“Nobody tells you how much I’m gonna miss these dead grass marks from the kids on the swings. We won’t have a play set at the new place, so stuff like this makes me wanna cry. Knowing how much fun the kids had on this stupid thing.”

It stopped me.

A year ago, Christelle packed up her life and moved to Ohio to begin a new chapter at the Cleveland Clinic.

She knew Cleveland was where she wanted to be. What she didn’t know was where in Cleveland would feel like home.

Instead of rushing into buying, we found a rental that gave her time to settle into her new role, explore different communities, and decide where she wanted to put down roots.

Fast forward a year, and it was time to find her home.

With her demanding schedule at the Clinic and her lease coming to an end, the pressure was on. I spent a lot of time searching for great opportunities on her behalf, knowing she didn’t always have the flexibility to be out looking at homes.

Then this one came back on the market.

We moved quickly. The sellers already had their next home under contract, which gave us the opportunity to put together a deal that made sense for everyone. Today, Christelle has the keys to a home she loves, with a little extra space for family when they come to visit.

They’d tell the story of a grandmother who made this house a home.

Since the 1960s, this home has been part of one family’s story. When Leigh had the opportunity to purchase her grandmother’s home as her first home, it meant so much more than buying a house. Together, she and Jarod lovingly brought it back to life while honoring everything it had meant to their family.

Today, those same walls are ready for a new chapter.

Congratulations to Josh and Abigail on purchasing your first home, and to little Cooper, who gets to grow up making memories in a home already filled with so much love.
