A moment of appreciation for this preserved heather art by 🙇🏻‍♀️

The “Heather Hole” — Hole 5 ⛳️ at Bay Valley — is what inspired the restaurant and bar’s name, Heatherfields.

When our client suggested a heather living wall, we loved the idea. But, we quickly learned: live wasn’t possible, and faux, fire-rated heather doesn’t exist. After testing every other alternative, nothing matched the spirit of the concept.

So we did the math — literally — to find the exact area that could safely be combustible, and Roni sourced preserved heather and grasses to create a one-of-a-kind installation. We know it may not last forever, but it’s honest, textural, and completely aligned with the story we set out to tell.

We love it. And we love for always listening to our (slightly) crazy ideas and then knocking them out of the park. 😘

We’re heading back to Blutowne today to install the outdoor amenities. Just in time to enjoy this beautiful fall weather!🍂

Love this post-install shot in the leasing office with artwork by local artist, . It can be tricky finding the right artists for projects in new markets, but the stars aligned and we discovered Lisa’s work which perfectly compliments the interior design here. ✨

Fun fact: that’s two of the same piece of art that we changed the hanging on the back of one to make a new design. Other fun fact: we’ve hung a lot of artwork and installed a lot of furniture this summer. Maybe we will finally post more install shots this fall, or maybe we will go into hibernation. Jury is still out. 🙃
