Ohio lawmakers want to give drivers a break. A bill introduced would temporarily cut Ohio’s state gas tax roughly in half for 90 days, dropping the rate from around 38 cents per gallon to just over 19 cents. That’s real money back in your pocket every time you fill up.
Your sewer bill could be going up. The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is proposing rate increases starting in 2027. For the typical customer, that’s about a dollar-85 more a month, or around 20 dollars more a year.

Police officials told 19 News that the suspect fled to West Virginia and an officer arrested him there outside of Morgantown.
A mother was found dead in her home Wednesday morning after her children discovered her body and called 911, according to police.
Officers responded to a house in the 300 block of W. Ely St. around 7 a.m., Alliance Police Chief Aken-Ra X said. The woman, who was in her late thirties, has not been identified by police.

SCHOOL FUNDING CRUNCH
Parma City Schools could be forced to make cuts after voters rejected a school income tax levy Tuesday.
The levy would have brought in $10 million more than property taxes and eliminated three existing levies.
The new levy would have eliminated $500 of property tax on every $100,000 of home value but would tax a little more than $1000 on every $60,000 of income.
Voters said no, with 59.3% voting against the levy, marking the district’s second failed levy in six months. The district has not passed a levy in 15 years.
Cleveland 19 News A 61-year-old man is dead after being shot at Costco in Strongsville, according to Strongsville Police.
According to police, officers were called to the store around 5:45 PM and found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the hospital and died from his injuries.
A man was taken to the police department for questioning.
Investigators say this was incident between two individuals.

9-YEAR-OLD HIT AND KILLED
A Green family is devastated tonight after 9-year-old Samuel Rife was hit and killed by a car Friday afternoon.
His father, Harlen Rife, told 19 News: “He was the most wonderful boy. I wish everyone could have met him. Those who did will never forget.”
Thinking about the family tonight. Keep them in your prayers.
