🪡 This Week At Sew4Service Lakewood! Happy Sewing Everyone! 🧶

September was unforgettable! 🎉 Thanks to our partnership with the Malachi Center and 6 incredible volunteers, we served 246+ neighbors with food, family fun, and essential hygiene care bags.

⚠️ But right now, we are facing an urgent challenge: our donation and volunteer numbers for the upcoming holidays are critically low.

🍂 As the weather cools down, the need grows. We are short on volunteers to help pack care bags and low on funds to secure winter essentials for our community. We can't do this without you!

August was unforgettable! 🌟 Not only did we celebrate 6 years of serving our community with a 3-day celebration, but together with our incredible partners and volunteers, we supported 488 individuals and families!

Here is a look at what we accomplished together:
🏡 15 unhoused community members received daily essentials
🧼 40 care bags given out with hygiene & cleaning supplies
🎨 15 moms supported in our parenting art therapy group
🎒 353 served with back-to-school resources alongside the Malachi Center
👶 25 families shopped for free baby items & handmade totes via Sew4Service & Safe Families
❤️ 5 volunteers helped us spread love all month long

Save the date ❤️
Our Parenting with Care Self-Care Education program requires attendance at two mandatory group sessions in November. Please register for either November 5th or 12th, from 1 PM to 2 PM. These sessions are the ONLY opportunity to receive diapers and self-care education for November. This will also be the final month for the program until February 2027. Registration opens in October, so keep an eye on our website for updates!
