This week's question: Did CJC make its logo rainbow just for Pride month?

✨🏳️‍🌈 NO! We're gay all year round! 🏳️‍🌈✨

People often ask us questions about whether they belong at CJC, so we thought we'd answer these questions in our FAQ series. Check back every Friday for more answers to your FAQs! (And feel free to ask us questions - we may feature them in an upcoming post!)

🌈 🎶 Join us next Friday for PRIDE Shabbes Dinner & Tish! 🎶 🌈
We'll welcome in shabbes together with candlelighting and a couple songs and poems. After dinner, we'll have a Tish, an Ashkenazi tradition of shabbes singing

📅 Friday, June 12
⏰ 6:30pm
📍 Sulphur Springs Picnic Area
♿ wheelchair accessible

🎶 If you would like to lead or teach a song - please do! It doesn't have to be Jewish, but it should be something that is fairly simple and easy for people to pick up. 🌈 In honor of Pride Month, q***r, trans, camp, joyful, and liberatory, songs are encouraged! ✨

🥯 Some people in our community are Gluten Free, Dairy Free, or allergic to nuts, apples, or purple nightshades – please keep these dietary needs in mind as you decide what to bring, so that everyone has at least one thing they can eat. Please list ingredients so that people know what they are able to eat.

The next book for the CJC & JVP Book Group will be "Perfect Victims" by Mohammed El-Kurd – an incisive critique of global narratives around Palestinian suffering and why the demand for “perfect victims” harms justice.

The book is available at the library in audio, ebook, and print. Mention “CJC-JVP Book Club” at Mac’s Backs Books in Cleveland Heights and they'll give you a 20% Discount!

Start reading now and join our conversation on June 10th. Meet us in the Cleveland Museum of Art's atrium at 7pm — we will have snacks!
