Did you know donor-advised funds (DAFs) are one of the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicles?
DAFs offer a flexible way to support the causes you care about while receiving an immediate tax deduction when you contribute. You can recommend grants through your established DAF to eligible nonprofits now or in the future, giving you greater control over the timing of your charitable giving. Your funds may even have the potential to grow tax-free over time, providing even more resources for future charitable giving.
Consult your financial advisor to learn more about donor-advised funds (DAFs) and how they can support your charitable giving goals.
To learn how recommending a grant from your DAF can make a meaningful difference in the lives of the men, women, children, and Veterans served by HEP, please contact Rebecca Adams, HEP Director of Development & Communications, at [email protected].

Permanent housing within the community is the ultimate goal for HEP residents. Whether they’re part of our emergency, transitional, or permanent supportive housing programs, case managers help them establish short- and long-term goals to reach this goal. By creating a safe, supportive environment and connecting residents with resources, HEP helps them overcome barriers and break the cycle of homelessness.

At the Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) our purpose is to break the cycle of homelessness. Since 1986, our mission has been to provide homeless and low-income individuals and families, including veterans, with housing, food, clothing and support services necessary to obtain self-sufficiency and improved quality of life. We offer housing and programs specifically designed for single men and women, families with children and U.S. veterans.

Last week, over 75 young professionals gathered at Bar Mezzo for HEP’s NextGen Society Networking Meetup! It was great to see so many young professionals showing up not just to connect, but to engage with a meaningful cause and learn more about how they can make a difference in our community.
We’d love to connect with you! Please reach out to HEP Marketing & Donor Relations Specialist Megan Risser at [email protected] to learn more about NextGen and future networking meetups.

We would like to recognize this year’s Otis Green & Bruce Fyfe Memorial Golf Tournament Presenting Sponsors: Provise Management Group, LLC and Raymond James. Their generous support helps make a lasting difference for Veterans experiencing homelessness by helping provide the resources they need to break the cycle of homelessness. We are just a few weeks away from hitting the greens for HEP Veterans!
If you are interested in ways to support this year’s tournament, please contact the HEP Director of Development & Communications, Rebecca Adams, at [email protected].
Good things are happening around HEP! Our clients are setting goals, reaching milestones, and taking steps toward greater stability every day. Here are a few recent wins our Case Managers have seen around campus. Every milestone is worth celebrating, and we’re excited to share a few with you!

Last year the HEP Dental & Wellness Clinic received a grant through the Florida Veterans Foundation to expand care in the clinic to qualifying U.S. Veterans in our community. This funding has allowed us to expand beyond the Veterans living in our program and help more Veterans in our community access the dental care they need. Since the funding began, HEP’s Dental Clinic has provided comprehensive restorative dental care to an additional 137 Veterans!
This program ongoing and open to honorably discharged Veterans who meet income guidelines. Help us spread the word about this amazing program by sharing this post with someone who could benefit! To find out if you qualify, click the link below and fill out a short form. Please note that proof of income, proof of residency, and DD214 documentation are required.
