SCAMP representative Amy Darnell came to our Americas Corvette Club meeting to receive a check from our Corvettes Americas Corvette Show Silent Auction proceeds. Check was presented to SCAMP by our Show Chair Ed Osterman. President Richard Heldenbrand, Vice President Robert Zoub & Secretary Carol Dec were in background.
Next years Corvettes America all Corvette show will be August 10, 2024 at Everest Academy in Clarkston, Mi.

Corvettes America would like to take this opportunity to THANK each and every one of you who attended our CORVETTES AMERICA CAR SHOW. You all helped to make this show the BIGGEST and BEST. THANK YOU to all those who presented their cars for judging. The love and care for these beautiful rides demonstrated the true Corvette Tradition of our Corvette Family. THANK YOU to those who as visitors and spectators were able, like all of us, to take a stroll through "CORVETTE HEAVEN". We truly were able to experience CORVETTES AMERICA, WHERE YOUR DREAM AND YOUR DRIVE COME ALIVE! THANK YOU to all our hard-working members for their dedication to their tasks and realizing that their work contributed to our Greatest Show Ever. THANK YOU to all those who participated in our Silent Auction. Their bids and purchases helped SCAMP, who will in turn help those children that need a helping hand. THANK YOU to our Vendors. You all represented the pride of your products to all of those who attended. Last but not least, THANK YOU to Richard Heldenbrand our president whose hard work and dedication to this show guided us to produce the CORVETTES AMERICA'S CAR SHOW. Finally THANK YOU to Ed Osterman our Corvette Show chairperson. His hard work put this show together, Ed's knowledge, experience and organizing skills put the "polish" on the show, and that shine will remain brilliant for a long, long time.

This 1969 Corvette Convertible has been donated to Corvettes America for sale with proceeds going to SCAMP of Clarkston. Bids will be accepted day of show. Car will be sold as is and buyer will be responsible for transporting vehicle. This is a project car.

DO YOU KNOW? This is the LAST in the continuation of our weekly series presented by AMERICA'S CORVETTE CLUB this Monday and every Monday until our "CORVETTES AMERICA" ALL CORVETTE SHOW AUGUST 12, 2023. We are only days away from Michigan's Largest all Corvette show, and we HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE. Here are some Facts and Trivia that Corvette enthusiasts may or may not know. Be sure to like or comment. This week we will explore Corvettes, Crimes, and Accidents.

1.) The NICB (National Insurance Crime Bureau) reported that between 1981 and 2011, a 1984 Corvette was the most stolen Corvette, with 8,554 being reported. One of the reasons for this Corvette model being stolen the most is because of the high production. 1984 was the second most produced year of Corvettes in its history.*
2.) 1992 to present, Corvettes have a high fatal accident rate. They have the second highest rate among all vehicles compared.*
3.) California saw the highest number of Corvette thieves in the years between 1981 and 2011, with 14,002 reported, followed by Florida with 8,731 and Texas at 8,198.*
4.) American serial killer Robert Yates Lee drove a white 1977 Corvette, and this helped lead to his arrest. One of his victims remembered, survived, and was able to identify the vehicle.*
5.) Against the popular urban myth, red color cars are the second most likely vehicle to be pulled over by police, the most common color is white!*
6.) The Self-Driving Safety Alert was the one safety feature not included in the 2020 Corvette.*
7.) 1984 was the year that had seat belts mandatory in vehicles per the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208.*

This is the next in the continuation of our weekly series presented by AMERICA'S CORVETTE CLUB this Monday and every Monday until our "CORVETTES AMERICA" ALL CORVETTE SHOW AUGUST 12, 2023. Facts and Trivia that Corvette enthusiasts may or may not know. Be sure to like or comment. This week we will explore Corvette Random Facts.

1.) The roof panel gap was seen in the door pillar above the door on some of the models between 1963 and 1967. Any gaps were filled with body filler.*
2.) Prior to 1997, windshield wipers would sweep in opposite directions. Following 1997, the wipers swept in the same direction.*
3.) In 1958, the original Polo White was replaced with Snowcrest White. Other colors added that year were Regal Turquoise, Signet Red, Panama Yellow, and Silver.*
4.) To celebrate the year 2000, Corvette released a limited edition C5 Corvette that featured two new colors, Millennium Yellow, and Dark Bowling Green Metallic.*
5.) In 1983, Corvette had issues with production and did not release a model that year that had created 43 pilot cars. All but one of these cars were destroyed and the sole survivor is now on display at the Corvette Museum.*
6.) 1981 saw the first year that a computer was installed in a Corvette.*
7.) 1968 saw the first year an AM/FM stereo was offered in a Corvette.*
8.) As of September 2020, 1.75 million Corvettes have been produced.*

Facts and Trivia that Corvette enthusiasts may or may not know. Be sure to like or comment. This week we will explore Rare Corvettes.

1.) In 1959, only 217 Turquoise Corvettes were created, making it one of the rarest colors.*
2.) The 1963 Stingray has become one of the most sought-after Corvettes because of its rear window. The split-window was only produced for one year, and after nearly 60 years not many of the original windows remain, making it extremely rare.*
3.) The 1967 Corvette L88 was created to be used for track racing, and not for street use; the vehicle had 430 hp. Only 216 of these L88's were built between 1967 and 1969, with only 20 made in 1967.*
4.) 1973 saw the only year that Corvette made a body design change for only one year of production. This Corvette featured a rubber front bumper, and a chrome rear bumper. This differed from past years that saw chrome bumpers on the front and rear.*
5.) In 1998, Corvette released a limited-edition color of "Medium Purple Metallic," and 381 of these Corvettes were created.*
6.) In 1971 only twelve Corvette Z52 cars were built.*
7.) A Fiberglass Steering Wheel was not included in the 1970 LT-1 package. Items that were included, Holley Carburetor, Special big-block hood, 2.5-inch exhaust.*

Facts and Trivia that Corvette enthusiasts may or may not know. Be sure to like or comment. This week we will explore Corvette Paint Colors.

1.) In 1955, five colors were offered for the exterior of the vehicle: Polo White, Pennant Blue, Corvette Copper, Gypsy Red, and Harvest Gold.*
2.) For the first few years of Corvette production, the vehicles were painted in nitrocellulose lacquer, until 1957 when the new Inca Silver Metallic paint was used in acrylic lacquer. Only 100 Corvettes were produced in that color.*
3.) During the 1959 production year, the most popular color was Snowcrest White with 34.68% of production that year, followed by Tuxedo Black at 16.48%, and Frost Blue at 10.59%.*
4.) The 1988 Corvette C4 offered a 35th Anniversary Special Edition package. This package was nearly $5,000 extra. The car had an all-white exterior and interior with white wheels and white door handles.*
5.) For C4 and C5 generation, the exterior color of Red became the new most popular color, beating out white that had dominated for the previous years.*
6.) Between 2005 and 2013, the color Black became the most popular color.*
7.) For three Corvette generations the color White was not offered, but the seventh generation Corvette brought it back. It became a popular color and 35,936 vehicles in Artic White were ordered between 2014 and 2019.*
8.) In 2001 the least popular color was Dark Bowling Green Metallic with only 919 Corvettes in this color, only 2.58%.*
9.) In 2020 and 2021, Torch Red, Artic White, and Black were the three most popular Corvette colors, followed by Sebring Orange, Elkhart Lake Blue, and Rapid Blue. Torch Red accounted for 25% of Corvette colors.*
