Last ewe had her babies. Twins. The white one is a boy. We have 9 babies. Mostly girls. That’s lambing season for this year. Just lost one of the triplets. I was a bit too late to save him. Everyone else is doing great.

One of the brown sheep had twins this morning. They were still damp when I found them. And the twins that came on Tuesday. We are up to 7 babies. Mostly girls. One left to lamb. Hopefully before the winter weather this weekend.

Woke up to three baby lambs today from two ewes. Three more ewes to go. Had to separate the ram as he was bing a jerk. Moms and babies doing well.

Cleaning out the barn. This needs a new home.

They stay in the coop and run and still hide eggs from me. Got probably a dozen from this nest. Pigs ate well today. Still got tons of eggs. This is Tuesday till today. Anyone need eggs? Contact me.

Pigs will be eating good this week. Found a pumpkin patch in the pasture looking for a runaway grand dog. Later found the dog.

Last week we had friends over and processes 42 chickens (mostly roosters) and 2 turkeys. We had 12 chickens and a turkey. Today Mr. Turkey is in the smoker after brining all week. And we cured a ham from one of our pigs, so it’s smoking as well. Next to go will be a brisket and a couple of chickens. We when get the smoker going we go hard.

Yesterday it was raining so we did a road trip and traded 12 laying hens for six turkeys. We got two males so this spring we can hatch some. This lessons the feed bill during the winter and gets us going in turkeys again.

Putting lamb in the freezer and ran out of room. Found this on marketplace for $100. 😳 It’s nice and is getting filled with the lambs we processed last weekend. I have two more to get going today and a bunch of roosters to go in next weekend. Breakfast of lamb and eggs to fuel the day. Dinner of leg of lamb to fuel the week. We have another year to grow out our beef so it’s great to have lamb to fill the void.

First two of five sheep down. Just putting meat in the freezer or canner. Haven’t decided which yet. Might be both. PCC was great at dropping them.

This makes me happy. 100 bales off my pasture. Most of this spring we’ve had no horses and an abundance of rain. Now to figure how much extra we will have. Need to do some fencing. We need a pig pasture and might put the cows out back. Just need to get mama cow bred first.

It’s that time of year again. I got tomatoes and peppers planted and have actually kept them alive long enough to be rewarded. Just gotta remember to water them. 🍅
