The Rooftop Garden School helps children engage with the natural environment first-hand to realize the importance of preservation and conservation.

The Rothenberg Rooftop School Garden enhances students’ development of critical thinking, science, math and literacy skills through hands-on application of classroom curriculum and increased community involvement. It was a busy week in the garden. The weather cooperated enough for us to plant our tomato and peanut plants. We also continue to harvest and eat strawberries, pick chamomile flowers for tea, and pulled a few turnips.
