INDOT just announced that this section of I70 is REPAIRED and OPEN 19 hours after it happened. That's pretty incredible work.

"WAYNE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that I-70 westbound has reopened after flood waters washed out a section of the road in Wayne County on Wednesday evening.

Thanks to the hard work of INDOT crews and Revive I-70 contractors The Walsh Group, Rieth Riley Construction, and Milestone Contractors, a full and permanent repair was made to the damaged roadway in less than 32 hours.

The westbound lanes of I-70 near mile marker 146 are now open. Please continue to monitor 511in.org for updates on other roadways impacted by this week’s flooding."

🚨WEATHER ALERT DAY 🚨- A final line of storms is heading our way this morning before we can get into a calm but very humid weekend. Intense downpours could bring strong winds and more flash flooding. Can't rule out more trees coming down and power outages with the ground soaked already. Randi Rico WLWT is tracking the morning system and has details on a very hot weekend.
⚡POWER OUTAGES - As we wait for the weekend heat, around 13,000 customers are still without power down from 260,000 at the height of the storms Tuesday. Out of state crews are in town assisting crews trying to get lights turned back on for so many people.
📍INDIANA FLOODING - West Harrison in Dearborn County facing devastating flooding with many roads still impassable and schools closed to keep students, staff safe. Shelters are open with mandatory evacuation orders along Whitewater River.
📍WILLIAMS EVANS-ELLIS - After HamCo Prosecutor reveals list of charges Thursday against 3 suspects in death of 7-year-old boy we are expecting their arraignment today. Court documents reveal messages on the app 'Signal," related to planning or agreeing to commit the crime, but those documents do not reveal what was said. If convicted, the 3 face life in prison at this time with prosecutor not ruling out upgrading to death penalty.
📍LUIGI MANGIONE - Suspect in shooting death of United Healthcare CEO is expected to plead guilty to federal charges. Plea could come today.
🎾CINCINNATI OPEN - Tennis tournament continues moving from fighting the rain/storms to fighting the heat/humidity this weekend.
⚾HUNTER GREENE - The news we didn't want, but somewhat expected. Reds ace Hunter Greene had his 2nd Tommy John surgery in 7 years to repair the UCL (ulnar collateral ligament) in his pitching arm. This surgery will likely keep him out until 2028 season.
⚾REDS - Reds sweat out a nailbiter in Chicago beating the White Sox in game 3, 9-8 to win the series. Start 8-game homestand tonight vs Marlins as they are 3 games into 16-day stretch with 17 games and no days off. (8/17 will be a doubleheader with Cardinals with an added make-up game) Rap artist Rick Ross will perform after the game!

AAA showing gas prices up with significant jumps in Ohio.
The US war with Iran, impacts on the Strait of Hormuz and stockpiles of the strategic petroleum reserves are all having a trickle down impact. I saw a number of stations at $3.99 on my way in this morning. What are you seeing?

Indiana's price is lower due to another suspension of the gas use and excise tax which is saving around $0.60/gallon. It will expire September 5th if the governor decides not to extend it.
