Excited to dive into the newest book of one of my favorite authors, !
Just read the first chapter while waiting to hear him speak . I'm already hooked!

This book has been on my TBR since my dental hygienist (an avid reader with whom I trade book recommendations every 6 months) told me it was a must read that would keep me guessing. It did NOT disappoint: dark and deeply disturbing with plenty of good twists. My first read by .author but definitely not my last.





 

This is the third time over the last 2 years I have tried to read this book. The first two times I attempted it, I had to stop; I just couldn't handle it. Today, however, I read the entire thing in one sitting, tears streaming down my face and a pile of wet tissues littering the floor next to my couch. Thank you for crafting this piece of art that speaks to me so powerfully and allows me to feel seen. Grief is confusing and complex. The grief of losing a Mom too soon is additionally layered and so authentically captured in this outstanding graphic novel (a medium I would never expect for a book about grief). Sprinkled throughout the author's deeply personal memoir are some notes that address more general grief experiences (scroll for pics). Strongly recommend for readers with a . Do not attempt to read without an adequate supply of quality tissues nearby.
