A new marker unveiled today celebrates a lasting legacy.

Wyoming, Ohio’s newest historic marker honors the 40th anniversary of the Wyoming Village Historic District’s listing in the National Register of Historic Places. It is also another amazing way Wyoming is leading the way in Hamilton County in celebrating America 250.

From remarkable historic homes to streetscapes rich in character, Wyoming’s historic resources tell the community’s story and make it a special place to live, work, and explore. This marker celebrates both that history and the generations of residents who have cared for these places.

This Saturday is Wyoming’s annual Fall Fest! Head up to Wyoming to enjoy the festivities and a beautiful fall day strolling the streets of this historic gem.

Congratulations to everyone who helped bring this recognition to life. Here’s to preserving Wyoming’s architectural treasures and community stories for generations to come!

📖 Welcome to Terminology Tuesday! Each week we define an architectural term you’ve probably walked past before. A 𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐤𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 is the solid panel below a storefront display window, traditionally made of wood, tile, or stone. Preserving original bulkheads helps maintain the historic character of Cincinnati’s commercial corridors. This Central Business District storefront features bulkheads below the glass on the storefront.
