"There are things to do and places to go! This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It's adventurously expectant..." -Romans 8:14,15 MSG

I love to remind people of what they have, not what they don't have. The grave-tending life is a life of lacks, wants, needs, unfulfilled hopes, and woulda shouldas. It is obsessed with the past. It measures its future by its past. It laments what was, or could have been.

But we are a NEW creation. We live in a NEW day, with a NEW way of living. The resurrection made all things new. Like the sun rising in the morning, this new day is rising in us and becoming brighter. This is changing our thoughts and actions. Our lives are surely renewed, and things are not like before.

I want everyone to realize that what we have is not the "old life 2.0". This life is based in God's Love and abundance, not lack. There actually is no lack. This is different. We have the One Who is Truth living in us. In fact, He is the major part of who we are.

This is changing our minds, and that is why we experience joy and peace. When the sun rises, we see what could not be seen when it was dark, yet we are really seeing what was always there. God's Spirit Life in us turns on the light, and we see the abundance and beauty that was there all the time.

Let us not dwell on how dark it used to be, but let us always look at what is real in this day!

Perhaps the strongest Christian testimony in our divided era isn’t another voice yelling political absolutes but one that offers peace in turmoil, mercy in retaliation, and hope in despair. A voice that recognizes the existence of worldly kingdoms while directing attention to a different kingdom--one established not by might but by love, sustained not by force but by grace, and not limited by frontiers but by God’s boundless mercy.
In this transient world of conflicting powers, such a witness remains as revolutionary today as when Jesus first stood before Pilate, defenseless yet unconquered.
