Thank you for highlighting our work!

Q***r community isn't just found at last call.

In one of Q***r Kentucky's latest pieces, "Beyond the Bar: How Cincinnati/NKY Q***r Spaces Are Evolving," author Ron Clemons digs into how the local LGBTQ+ landscape is shifting beyond bar culture, and why that's not necessarily a bad thing. Clemons talks to community leaders about the organizations and resources stepping up to fill the gaps.

One of the spaces highlighted in the story is TreeHouse Cincinnati, a resource space uplifting LGBTQ+ programming across the region. They host groups like PFLAG, Black Power Initiative, Cincinnati Black Pride, and Cincinnati Prime Timers, with plans for a library of banned books in the works.

As community needs have shifted, spaces like TreeHouse step in to meet people where they are. They prioritize accessibility that's physical, racial, and gender-based. As founding member Joshua Petty-Kayes puts it, people want to be "around others who look like them and share similar experiences."
