Here’s the part most patients don’t know: a routine eye exam without dilation or retinal imaging only shows a small, narrow view of the back of the eye. To actually see the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels in full, we need either dilation or retinal imaging technology like this 👀

That full view matters because it’s how we catch things early, changes related to diabetes, high blood pressure, or the natural aging process, often before you’d notice any symptoms at all.

It only takes a few extra minutes, and it’s one of the most valuable parts of a comprehensive eye exam.
