Our final recital of 2025 was at The Courtyard at Little Chico Creek assisted living community. The Courtyard is such a great place to practice performing and the residents enjoy watching these wonderful students share their Christmas pieces.

We had a wonderful Christmas recital at Paradise Adventist Church this afternoon. It was so much fun to play “Santa’s Wild Ride” with Nora to end the program.

Some of The Wright Keys students will be sharing their spooky and fun fall repertoire with the residents of The Courtyard at Little Chico Creek today. Sophie had practiced to play at this recital but gets to go on a field trip instead. At her lesson yesterday we recorded her pieces to share. Sophie is 7 years old and has been taking piano lessons for less than a year.

Three of my students performed at the MTAC recital today at Butte College. This fun piece is Triple Dip by Robert Vandall.

On the Thursday before Christmas The Wright Keys was filled with the music of the season! Please enjoy these duets, solos and ensemble performances. This year we are experimenting with creating group improvisations using only chord charts and no notation and they were lots of fun to put together and play!

Two students to celebrate today! Kayley is a new student this semester and has already completed her first Wunderkeys book! Violet completed her 2nd method book this week and is pictured with her younger brother who hopes to be a piano student soon!

Abby is one of the newest students at The Wright Keys. She just graduated out of her very first lesson book and is on to volume 2! Congratulations, Abby!
For the month of October, some of The Wright Keys students have been exploring improvisation/composition in the key of D minor using Jump Starts created by the amazing teacher, Leila Viss. This activity really inspired Hana and here is the composition she worked on this week. It is yet untitled.
