This week we removed a good size limb on a liquid amber tree because the neighbor and homeowner were worried about it snapping off and falling on the power line below.
It is always better to take care of an issue in a controlled environment, before it endangers lives or property.
The property owner and neighbors are now resting easy, since the limb has been removed.
If you have a tree that is causing you grief, give us a call.
Scott McMillan is a certified arborist with over 30 years of experience here locally and would be happy to set your mind at ease about your tree as well.

Hi Neighbors!! We’ve had lots of folks reach out about the trees and plants at Hope Plaza. We love that folks are engaged, watching, and owning this Memorial. It is absolutely yours to enjoy!
Please know that there is still work to do before it goes back to the Town of Paradise - including finishing up planting. This is all volunteer work and we were out there all weekend doing our best to get the grading done and as much planting as possible.
The large redwood was left laying down to prevent damage from being continuously blown over in the heavy wind. We are hoping to get it in-ground this week.
We still need help planting several large plants, installing drip irrigation, cobble and mulch and could use all the help we can get!
If you see our Super-Volunteer Mark Taylor out there, and you can spare an hour or two, please help out! It would be greatly appreciated!!
We’ll definitely be there Friday and Saturday at 9am.
Thank you, Paradise Ridge!! ♥️🫶♥️

You never really know what a day is gonna bring and today has been busy with all of this wind. This was our first emergency job of the day. This Chinese Pistachio split and fell in a church parking lot, trapping three vehicles. Luckily, no one was injured! We rescheduled our morning and made our way out there as quickly as possible to address the problem. Due to Scott’s expertise we were able to remove the tree and free the cars without causing any additional damage. If you have a tree-related emergency day or night, call us on our emergency line: 530-321-8433.

We hope all of you mothers out there felt loved and appreciated this Mother’s Day weekend. On the sunset of Mother’s Day weekend we thought it would be fun to share some facts about Mother Trees, aka hub trees.
These are the oldest, tallest, and most connected trees in a forest and were coined Mother Trees by the Canadian ecologist, Dr. Suzanne Simard, because they act like, well, mothers. These trees are able to communicate to the other trees and seedlings throughout the forest through mycorrhizal fungi, creating an underground information highway.
Throught this network they can send excess carbon, nitrogen, and water to understory seedlings, significantly increasing their chances of survival.
Recognizing their own kin, they prioritize transferring more nutrients to their genetic offspring compared to strangers.
They also communicate with other trees, sending warnings about environmental threats like insect attacks, allowing neighbors to raise their defenses.
Mother Trees are vital to the health of the entire forest and are crucial for forest recovery and climate change resilience. Losing them can drastically reduce the survival chances of younger trees and weaken the forest ecosystem.
