On this day in 2002, blink-182 and Green Day joined forces to kick off the unforgettable Pop Disaster Tour, a co-headlining run that became one of the most iconic tours in early 2000s punk rock.

Running from April 17 to June 17, 2002, the tour brought together two of the genre’s biggest names at the height of their mainstream success. blink-182 were riding the wave of Take Off Your Pants and Jacket, while Green Day were in their Warning era.

With support from Jimmy Eat World, Saves The Day, and K*t U Up, the tour spanned over two months, hitting amphitheaters across the United States and making a stop in Canada.

More than just a tour, Pop Disaster captured a generational moment, bringing together massive mainstream appeal with the spirit of punk and introducing a new wave of fans to the scene.
