What did you want, sonic inducer, sheep in wool coats dumpster diving for forever hidden treasure? Time ain't always on our side.

What did you think, summer cesspool sleeper, English wasn't a language conceived for business? Allow me, please, to introduce New Erections, the third full-length from the Southern California decade-plus young endeavor, The Locust, as a post-futurist to primitive again strangled tongue-shearer just 'cause the business is lickin' pretty bad. Circumstances prohibiting, if the Locust could've soundtr

What would the world of underground music look like without Justin Pearson? From my point of view, the community would be pretty boring. To call him a lifer would be an understatement. I'm not even going to run down his resume because it's too vast. If you don't know his value, then do the research. One of his new adventures is the podcast Cult and Culture, where he sits down with his homies to discuss life and music. His label Three One G is putting out an interesting comp called Cult and Culture - A Planet B Podcast Compilation LP, featuring past guests and bands that he loves. What I dig about this comp — besides the music — is the cool interludes between tunes! It's now time for y'all to check out Cult and Culture - A Planet B Podcast Compilation in full, and make sure to check out the podcast as well! Hey JP — thank you for everything that you have done and are still doing for the scene!

The Locust "Armless and Overactive/ Invented Organs" from Safety Second, Body Last

2005 saw the Ipecac Recordings/Radio Surgery release of The Locust’s “Safety Second, Body Last,” the follow-up EP to their acclaimed album, “Plague Soundscapes.” The concept for SSBL has been explained as one 10-minute song split into two tracks, each of which is further dissected into separate movements. The result is a timeless sci-fi onslaught described in reviews as an “elegant mind-f**k of organized noise” and “a fascinating contrast full of viciously dadaist musical fragments and surreal, perceptive lyrics.”

The now well-recognized cover art is a piece titled “Treatment” by Neil Burke, a member of likeminded experimental band Men’s Recovery Project.

Witness The New Mind-Melting Visual From THE LOCUST “Armless And Overactive/ Invented Organs”
https://cvltnation.com/the-locust-armless-and-overactive-invented-organs/

Repeat after me: say WTF 3x, then say, what the freak did I just see and hear? Let me tell you what I just heard and saw: The LOCUST 6-minute visual for their song "Armless and Overactive/ Invented Organs." I would call it a mind melt in the form of nothing that we perceive as normal. That's what makes everything about this video sick AF. The special effects are gnarly and the music makes me feel like I'm living in the brain of Max Headroom. You already know that this off-kilter anthem comes from THE LOCUST's 2005 release Safety Second, Body Last.
