Tiffany Card, PE, and Dennis Vertiyev, PE, recently presented at the ACEC Vermont Annual Transportation Technical Workshop, highlighting the Route 2A over I-95 interchange redesign in Lexington, MA, for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.
The project replaces a traditional cloverleaf configuration with modern roundabouts, improving safety and traffic operations while reducing congestion. The reimagined interchange also leverages the replacement of a structurally deficient bridge to simplify movements and eliminate operational inefficiencies.
Multimodal improvements were a key focus, including a separated shared-use path, ADA-compliant crossings, and traffic calming measures along Route 2A to better support pedestrians and cyclists.
This project reflects the growing collaboration and shared technical capabilities of Lochner and Egis in delivering forward-thinking infrastructure solutions that enhance safety, mobility, and long-term community value.
