RMU Army ROTC

RMU Cadets just finished up Final Exams this week. They also conducted a Record APFT yesterday. The average APFT score was a 283! Overall, there was an average of a 46 point increase from the last APFT. Great way to finish out the Quarter. HOOAH!

FLRC Lead Lab conducted today at the UIC RRB. RMU Cadets were ready to take charge and lead from the front!

Who said PT has to be boring? Nothing like running through Chicago and taking in some of the sights: The Bean, Michigan Ave. and The Art Institute.

Below are a few pictures from the Bataan Memorial Death March. CDT Dixon, Montoya, and Williams made us proud. They all finished strong and were very humbled by the experience. Great work!

The Bataan Memorial Death March is a challenging march through the high desert terrain of White Sands Missile Range, conducted in honor of the heroic service members who defended the Philippine Islands during World War II, sacrificing their freedom, health and, in many cases, their very lives.

Cadets Dixon, Montoya, and Williams will march 26.2 miles with a 35 lb. ruck and will be able to experience, in part, what Soldiers endured during their long forced trek through the Philippines.

Congratulations and a big THANK YOU to the RMU Cadets that contributed to the St. Baldrick's fundraiser. RMU Army ROTC raised $260 and $5,000 was raised overall. Team members included: Cadets Dixon, Davis, Washington, Copulos, Deal, Mazon and Williams.

In addition, CDT Copulos and CDT Deal stepped up to the plate shaved their heads at the St. Baldrick's event on Sat, March 8.

Lead Lab tomorrow will be taking place at IIT Farr Hall. Disregard the information put out this morning, Lead Lab will not be held at RMU. It will be held at IIT Farr Hall, cadets are to arrive NLT 0545. Squad Leaders, be sure to put this info out to all of your squad members. There should be no excuses for arriving late or being AWOL. Lead Labs can result in the deduction of a full letter grade.

RMU Cadets had an intense PT session today. 100 push ups, 200 sit ups, 300 air squats and a 1 mile run. Keep up the good work!
