Our goal is to equip Pre-K to 1st Grade students with foundational reading skills through an arts-based program grounded in the science of reading.

On Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we honor Dr. King’s unwavering belief in justice, opportunity, and the dignity of every child. Reading is a right—and all children deserve access to the tools and support that help them grow as readers and leaders. When we advance literacy, we advance equity, hope, and the future Dr. King dreamed of. 🕊️📚

Timers are MAGIC in the classroom! ⏱️✨

A big, visible countdown helps students manage their own time, stay focused, and wrap up their work independently.

Whether you use a smart board timer, a magnetic countdown, or a simple digital display, the consistency helps everyone feel more in control. When students know exactly how much time they have, transitions get faster—and small groups feel so much smoother. 🎉

If small groups feel overwhelming—start small! ❤️‍🔥

Begin with just two groups and practice transitioning for 5–7 minutes at a time. Then slowly build up to longer rotations and more centers.

This gives students time to master routines, builds confidence, and keeps things from feeling chaotic. Simple is sustainable. Start small, grow strong, and remember—your coach is here to help with center ideas! 📚✨

Save your focus AND keep kids moving! 🙌

Teaching quick hand signals gives students a way to communicate their needs without stopping your instruction. A quick nod from you lets them know it’s okay, and the group keeps flowing.

This tiny routine builds HUGE independence and reduces constant “Can I…?” interruptions.

Hand signals = smooth learning, calmer transitions, and more focused small groups. ✔️✨

Want fewer interruptions during small groups? Try using a fun “Do Not Disturb” cue! 🎩✨

It could be a silly hat, a light you switch on, a scarf—anything students recognize instantly. When it’s on, you’re focused with a group and not available for questions.

Kids LOVE the novelty, and it creates a clear, visual boundary that helps everyone stay on task. Small groups run smoother when expectations are simple, consistent, and visual! 🧡✨
