Sarah McLaughlin Ladino, Assistant Professor and Chair of English, Communication, Theatre, and Journalism at Harry S Truman College, shares her experience with the TESOL program. She explains how it broadened her perspective as both a language teacher and lifelong learner. She reflects on the value of stepping into the shoes of her students while continuing to grow professionally. Her advice is to build meaningful connections, expand your network, and remain open to new opportunities in your professional journey.

Dr. Lizzy Hanks presented, "Teaching the art of conversation: Insights from a corpus of American English conversation" as the second installment of the TESOL Lecture Series in March!

She graduated with her M.A. in TESOL from NEIU in 2021 and is now an Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics at University of South Florida. Lizzy uses corpus methods to research conversation, pragmatics, and vocabulary.
