Post-punk, moving from quiet to loud in well-constructed ways. I make radio in Chicago. Everything else is negotiable. I used to be a touring musician.

Somewhere in between I got a PhD in religion. I teach, I write, and I make a lot of sounds that people enjoy.

After a very long silence, I am happy to announce that work has begun on a new album, which I hope will be ready for your ears in the fall of 2013.

The working title is "The Radon Daughters." I am in the process of working our what songs will be on it. So far, I know three for sure. Two are new tracks nobody has heard yet, "Port Chicago" and "Drums and Bunnies." The other is a cover some of you will remember from the If Coffeehouse shows - "White Sands," by the late and much missed Chicago songwriter Stephanie Morris.

I'm excited. It feels good to be thinking about music again after all these years. I'll post updates here as I have them. Meanwhile, please keep in touch. Thanks always for listening. ~David

It bathes the brain i...

Playing keys for a thrown-together cover group at Vanderbilt. "Hermeneutic of Suspicion," I think it was called.

Rearranging the music room. Hoping that later in the summer, I'll be able to get some new (actually, old) music out and available to folks. "I Got the Fear" needs to be available for download, and I think I can get some unreleased songs out into the world, as well.
