Nothing sums up my time with Jarrett Payton more than this picture. Always looked forward to having JP on the show mornings after Bears games. Mainly because he did most of the work during these segments, but also because he did most of the work during these segments.
No person has ever gotten me to do anything remotely close to dancing on TV, but JP is like a happiness virus. He's basically happiness herpes. We always wanted to do more together but our schedules never aligned. Seems that's not the case anymore . . .
Wishing him all the best. We'll miss him around here, but family first. Always, always, always.

I know the biggest takeaway for a lot of you will be how fantastic my hair looks in this picture, but try to look past that and read the fine print.
Excellence.

I’m really excited about this. I’ll be speaking at TEDx Chicago this year about the realities of being a caregiver. True to fashion, I will not mince words. It’ll be funny, raw, deeply personal, and hopefully illuminating. But not motivational- I don’t do Tony Robbins.
Hope to see you there.
“A caregiver who built a multi-million dollar comedy fundraiser to fight his partner’s rare and devastating disease makes the case that the love caregivers feel and the exhaustion, guilt, and grief underneath it are the same devotion — and that honoring all of it is how we actually help each other.”

IN HONOR OF THE KNICKS, the picture on the left is of me wearing my favorite Knicks shirt. That's because the picture on the right is of my grandfather wearing the EXACT same shirt 21 years ago. It's one of the few items I have from him, and has survived about 6 moves and countless washing machine cycles.
To be clear, I don't think my grandfather watched a single Knicks game in his entire life unless he had money on them, but that shirt always reminds me of him, and I would say of a much simpler time, but this was after a decade of the Knicks losing in the Playoffs- that was no simple time.
One day I'll tell you about the time my grandfather saw Robert DeNiro in the neighborhood and smacked him on the ass. True story.
I need to start working from home. Also, go Knicks.
