Who is St. Moses the Black?

Have you been asking yourself, "Who is St. Moses the Black?"

He is a renowned Desert Father and is known for his conversion from a life of thievery to living as a disciple of Jesus Christ! He lived as a monk in Egypt and when his life, and the lives of his fellow monks, were threatened, Moses commanded that they not respond with violence. He died in the year 405 at the age of 75.

He is affectionately known as Abba Moses! We will celebrate the feast day of St. Moses the Black on August 28th!

St. Moses the Black, pray for us!
