Before a piece ever becomes part of the collection, there’s a little experimenting that happens behind the scenes.

Samples. Prototypes. Different fabrics. Different weights. Different textures. Different ways of bringing an idea to life.

I’m learning that creating a piece isn’t always about finding a fabric that works, it’s about finding the right fabric for the vision, the function, and the feeling I want the brand to embody.

So for now, I’m experimenting. Testing. Taking notes. Making adjustments. And letting the process lead me to the right materials.

Because sometimes the final piece starts with a prototype that never makes it to the collection. And that’s okay.

When I designed this patch and logo in December, I knew I wanted a special meaning in every detail. So here it is!
The M is Maure, of course, with the needle and thread woven into the letter as a reminder that we have the power to create the life we envision.

The two stars represent my twin siblings, both born in Chicago.
The Chicago Skyline is a representation of home.
EST. 2007 represents my son, who was born in Chicago that same year.

The fleur-de-lis is for Louisiana; a nod to my roots and where my story comes from.

And the rose represents my baby sister, the youngest of us all.

So while it may look like a simple logo and patch, it’s really a little piece of family, roots, creativity, and legacy.

Maure is more than what I make. It’s a reflection of where I come from and the life I’m continuing to create. 🧵🤎
