Today, we honor the 343 FDNY members and one New York City fire patrolman killed on Sept. 11, 2001, the thousands of others who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks, and all those who have died since from WTC-related illnesses.

This past Tuesday former Chief Robert Smart was honored once again for his decades of dedication to the village of Chicago Ridge. We will miss you!

The village also swore in our new Fire Chief Paul Chocola. Congratulations to Chief Chocola and we look forward to having you as our new Fire Chief!

At the same Village Board Meeting last week, Chief Smart was presented with a 28 Years of Service Award from the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
